CUT to YOU | Perfect | Mel Fiel

Hey there everyone! Today on the CUT to YOU blog I have a layout for you that has significantly tested and challenged me to no end. I have well and truly worked outside my comfort zone. The end result is very different from my initial plan but overall I think it works. This month I have gone back to trying to document some more photos from our wedding, 25 years ago. I don’t know about you but I have put this album off for the last 19 years of my scrapbooking life and had plans to complete it before our 25th anniversary…but I am like a kid in a lolly shop and always find something different to distract me. (Apologies for the yellow tone to the photo…bad weather means lighting for photos is not great!) I started with the mixed media background. I had a few challenges for this layout… **I am using a 25-year-old photo, the colour, and lighting in the photo are not great.  **I struggle to work with ‘purple’ at the best of times. Sometimes I wonder why I chose purple for the brid...

CUT to YOU | You Are Special |

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing one of my latest projects for CUT to YOU using two digital cut files from the  CUT to YOU store. There are soooo many awesome cut files in the store that sometimes it is really hard to choose what you would like to use. There are so many fabulous options!  This month I continue with another photo from the local Debutante Ball. Now originally I wasn’t going to use this photo…BUT I saw a wonderful little challenge online that I used as my jumping off point and this photo was just perfect for the elements.  This is a photo of hubby and I with two of our staff members who were partners at the local Debutante Ball. I knew in this layout I was going to use the beautiful, soft tones of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘Storyteller’ collection and I needed to match it with a floral cut file from CUT to YOU. I ended up deciding to use the Flower Band cut file. I love this cut file for several reasons… 1) It is so pretty ...

"CUT TO YOU | BOTANICAL WREATH | MEL FIELD" Hey there friends! Today I feature on the  CUT to YOU blog  sharing a special project that brought me so much joy… As creative people, we are very good at bringing joy to others through our creative projects. It doesn’t matter what we do…scrapbook, art journal, knit, crochet, sew, photograph…we are always good at putting a smile on other people’s faces with our little gifts. Today I share a project that I hope did just that. A beautiful young lady, very special to us, invited us to her Debutante Ball earlier in the year. We were so honoured to have been invited and had a wonderful night celebrating with her. Just recently she celebrated her birthday so I decided (with the support of my hubby and son) to make her a special gift. Now I couldn’t look past a cut file to add that special touch to the page. The  CUT to YOU shop  is filled with these little gems. Every time I head there I find something new (even if it is an ...

CUT to YOU | Interlocking Hexagons | You Are Awesome | Mel Field

Hey there crafty friends! I'm here again to share with you my second project for this month for the CUT to YOU Design Team. I have again used more than one cut file from CUT to YOU for this project and whilst I had no real plan in the beginning for my layout I am very happy with the end result.   This photo was taken of my son at the end of the 2019 Australian Scout Jamboree in Tailem Bend, South Australia. They had endured a very hot, windy, dusty and then some rain for the two weeks. It was a tough Jamboree and the colour of his face is evidence of that. I will never forget the colour of the water as I soaked his clothes after it or the colour difference between his feet and legs when he removed his dusty socks. I love love love scrapbooking pages of my boys, there is just something about masculine pages and I often sway to these well and truly before feminine pages. I also love love love using mixed media for my masculine layouts. I have created this background using some...

CUT to YOU | Sew Loved Too & Love Hearts by Caitlin Background | 25 Years of Mr & Mrs | Mel Field

Hey there creative friends! I made it a task of mine to finish scrapbooking our wedding album before our 25th Anniversary...whilst I have made some great progress, I haven't finished and it is our anniversary tomorrow 😬  Well, I guess it means I just get to reminisce for longer! Today, I am sharing a layout and the process I have taken to complete it combining two beautiful  cut files from CUT to YOU. This layout celebrates our 25th Wedding Anniversary 💕💕 I am so thankful, grateful and blessed to have married Jason 25 years ago and look forward to  the next 25 years 💕💕 In one of my recent posts for CUT to YOU, I said that I would use another part of the  Sew Loved Too cut file. When you cut the files there are several parts that you may use together or do as I have and separate them over several layouts. This time I have used the thin heart outline from the cut file. I have coloured it with Distress Oxide …I just love this colour and it suited the go...
