Sketches in Thyme #117

Welcome to my next post for Sketches in Thyme.

Today sees the sketch #117 go live on the blog. The Team B Mavens have done an awesome job with this sketch. If you haven't been over to Sketches in Thyme click on this link to head on over and see the awesome work the girls have done.

For my layout, I have again focussed on a photo to add to Brayden's baby album (remember I am running very behind with his baby album).

Have you ever scrapped photos that are not sensational? That the quality is pixelated or a little out of focus??
Well, I have tackled that challenge with this sketch.
8 1/2 years ago we didn't own a good DSLR. We actually used my hubby's camera from work which took 3 1/2 inch floppy disks. Obviously the quality of the photos were not great!
However, these are the photos we have to remember all of the special occasions, meetings and times during Brayden's first few they must be scrapped.

This photo was taken when my Nan, aunty and uncle arrived at the hospital, unannounced after driving all the way from Sydney...a 7 hour trip to meet our new baby boy!
The four generations of the family...Nan, my Mum, myself and Brayden.

Here is the sketch from Sketches in Thyme...

Here is my layout...

I have used the Graphic 45 Secret Garden collection together with the newsprint from Stampin' Up.
I have used Thickers for my title and have used some Kaisercraft Pearls.

Here is a close up...

All of these products are available at Scrapbookit. Head over to the online store by clicking this link and check out all of the awesome products available in store.

Whilst you are at Scrapbookit...why not pop on over to the blog ( to check out my new post and what the other Design Team girls have been up to.
There is a new challenge as well as a kids challenge.

Here is a sneak peek of my layout over at Scrapbookit...

Well, that is all for me today.

I am back......

So much has happened since my last post.
I have been flat out with so many exciting things and a lot of work!!

My last post was posted the day I headed to the Scrapbookit Retreat. Wow! What an awesome weekend! We all headed to Bright for the weekend. There was plenty of food, scrapping, inspiration, great conversation and friendships, fun and heaps of laughter!
I was lucky enough to have my Mum and Sisters Jenn and Shell there too! What a great girls weekend away!

We had a dress up night on the Saturday night......lots of fun.
Here is one photo...
Can you guess who we are????

Such an awesome weekend!

The next weekend we had the school fundraising dinner.

Then the 'road trip' of the century....
Five of us in a car - Jason, Brayden, Coll, Jess and I all the way to Sydney, 4 Swans supporters and 1 Essendon supporter. Yes we went to see the Sydney v Essendon game at the SCG. Besides the awesome result and the fun we had singing the Swans song to Jess ALL the way home the weekend was just a whole heap of fun.

Some fun fun times.....

Scrapbooking.....well there hasn't been a large amount of that as it is that dreaded time of the year.......the writing of school reports. It has consumed my every moment.
I did try to get organised at the retreat.

Anyway, for Sketches in Thyme my latest project has been.....Sketch #112.

I have done some work over at Scrapbookit - but I would love you to go over to the Scrapbookit blog to check it out! Click here

The latest post that has gone live today over at Sketches in Thyme is Sketch #114.

Check out the sketch...

And here is my take on the sketch....

Such special memories!

Now tomorrow I have a new post going live over at Scrapbookit!
Make sure you head on over to to check out my new post, to see what Brenda and Ruby have been up to and to check out the Monthly Challenge!

Sketches in Thyme

Here I am sharing my latest post for Sketches in Thyme.

Each month the Mavens over at Sketches in Thyme share some great layouts based on brilliant sketches. Make sure you pop over and check them out.

This month the first sketch I have been working with is....

Here is my take on this gorgeous sketch...

I have used the gorgeous Echo Park papers ~ Sweet Girl. Jo @ Scrapbookit sent them to me to work with for the Scrapbookit Design Team and I just can't get enough of them at the moment!!!!!
There is a bit of Tim Holtz Distress paint and white paint on the background so that the patterned paper wasn't so stark.

This photo of my gorgeous niece Charlotte was taken not long before they moved to Virginia Beach, USA. She was and still is such a cutie!

Make sure you pop on over to Sketches in Thyme - to see the rest of the teams gorgeous work.

Anyway I best be off....I am busy packing and organising for a weekend of scrapping, relaxation and fun with all of the wonderful Scrapbookit Team, my sisters and my Mum! Can't wait!

Hope you have a great weekend,

Crazy Times

Goodmorning Everyone,

Welcome to Friday! It is so nice to know that the working week is almost over and that a weekend of creativity is close by!

It has been a little crazy around here....this appears to be "normal" ~ it would be nice for things to slow down just a little!

I am here to share with you a little project that I created for friends of ours that have just had a beautiful new baby boy. A little gift to celebrate the occasion...

I also made a little card to welcome Xavier into the world.

Congratulations Ash and Bid....what a beautiful little boy!

I have used the Kaisercraft 'Party Animals' collection. It is such a cute collection and even though it is party based it is so versatile that you can use it for so many different kid related projects.

Over at Scrapbookit Jo has announced her new Design Team. I have been so lucky to be asked to continue on the team with another stint as Design Team Leader.

Joining me on the team is the lovely Brenda Caldow and Ruby Bisson.
The girls work is just gorgeous and I am really looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful things they create for us at Scrapbookit.

Make sure you pop on over to Scrapbookit and check out the girls bio's as well as the challenges that are currently happening....

Well, I have a few things on the go at the moment that I can't share just yet so I best be off to work on them.

Have a great Friday!

Sketches in Thyme Sketch #108

Well it is time to share with you my latest project for Sketches in Thyme.

I am really loving being part of the SiT Team and being a Design Maven. I am using this position as an opportunity to do a bit of catch up on my son's baby album. The years are flying by and I am still plugging away at it! I am loving the memories though that are re-lived as I complete each sketch.

This month we are up to Sketch it is....

I am not normally very good using small photos and as I am trying to use up the baby photos that have been printed for 8 years I had to use a little bit of my own artistic licence!
Another thing that is a little hard for me is the quality of the photos. 8 years ago we were using a camera that my hubby had from work...we were not really in a position to have anything better. So a lot of the photos are very pixelated. I am not going to leave them from being scrapped because of their quality.....they are far too important!

Here is my interpretation of this sketch...

This was my son's very first afternoon at home. Look at how tiny he is in that big bassinet!

I have used the gorgeous 'Party Animals' Collection by Kaisercraft. It is such a great range for baby photos no matter whether you have a girl or a boy!
My embellishments are also from this collection.
I have used gorgeous white glitter foam Thickers for my title.

Here is a close up...

How cute is that elephant?

Did you know that Sketches in Thyme is having a  Design Team call?
Make sure you head over to the blog to not only check out what the other Mavens have done but also to submit your application for the team.

Have a great weekend!

Back Again!

Just short of two years ago I decided to move away from Blogger and try a few other places for blog hosting! As wonderful as that experience has been.......obviously I am back!

Unfortunately I am unable to import those blogs back to here so on the right hand side of this blog I have included links to the two blogs that I have used for you to check out.

However, this is where I will stay! So adjust your RSS feeds and make sure you follow this blog to check out what is happening in my world.

Today I posted my latest project over at Scrapbookit.

Here is a sneak peek...

I have used the My Minds Eye - Boy Crazy paper collection.....available at Scrapbookit!

Did you know that there is also a My Girl collection from My Minds Eye too? Also available at Scrapbookit.

Why don't you pop on over and see what has been happening at Scrapbookit - click here!

I will be back in the next day or two to share with you my current Sketches in Thyme project.

See you then.
