Scrap the Boys - "Just the Facts" Challenge

Well, I have finally added my entry to the Scrap the Boys - "Just the Facts" Challenge. I am not quite sure how I found this blog but boy I am glad I did!
It is funny you know...the photo I have used I have had sitting with the papers for a few months. Not only due to the busy life I lead but also the fact that this photo didn't really have a story meant that I was a little stumped as to how to use it.
As soon as I saw this challenge I knew that I had found a use for the photo and the papers and I think they go just so perfectly together.

It is funny how quickly some things come together for me sometimes and other times I spend forever flipping and changing. This layout came together quite quickly, the hardest part was choosing some words to describe my boys vital statistics. I came up with......style, attitude +, handsome, funny, lovable, independent, imaginative, confident, love routine, know it all!
I finished off the layout with a current quote from my boy that often is said at bedtime. "But Mum I can't sleep without a story." Mind you this is usually stated when it is far too late for a story!!!!

Scrap That Poetry

A few days ago I received an extremely exciting email! After applying to be part of the Scrap That Poetry Design Team, the lovely Jennifer Campbell emailed me to say that I had been accepted!! I am just so thrilled to be a member of such a wonderful blog and with a group of such talented ladies. For those of you who don't know Scrap That Poetry I recommend that you pop on over and have a look. STP provide two challenges each month that require you to use the poem to inspire your scrapbooking.....it is lots of fun! Currently, the poem is The Rock Cries out to Us by Maya Angelou and works are to be submitted by October 14th at 10am. Come Along - We Would Love YOU to Join Us!!

Back to School has definitely hit our household and we have hit the ground running! Besides going back to school we have celebrated the little fellas 6th Birthday, had my sister and her family visit from America and celebrated my nieces birthday whilst she was here......alongside another celebration for the big 6 year old. Sadly, scrapbooking has taken a back seat as I have been preparing birthday cakes!!! My boy had a pool party with a few of his friends from school the day after his birthday. I made this swimming pool cake.....probably not my most outstanding however he loved it and so did all of his little friends:) This weekend, just gone, we had yet another birthday celebration with the family. It was such a lovely day. My sister, her hubby and my two gorgeous nieces were here from America for the weekend - my boy and my eldest niece and goddaughter celebrated their birthdays together.
