CUT to YOU | Sunshine On My Mind | Mel Fiel

"CUT TO YOU | SUNSHINE ON MY MIND | MEL FIELD" Hey there everyone! Can you believe that we are halfway through November? Where has the year gone? I am so excited to share with you my projects this month. Given that here in Australia we are not far from Summer I thought I would create some fun Summer projects. Today I am sharing ‘Sunshine On My Mind.’ How cool is this cut file? Sunshine On My Mind Two in one. There are so many ways to use this cut file…I have decided to edit it a little on my Silhouette and cut the title section of the cut file smaller than the sun to suit my layout. It is so easy to do this once you have the cut file in your cutting machine’s software program. Have you ever tried? Being able to do this with cut files makes it so easy to adapt to each layout and make your creations different. It also makes each and every cut file versatile. I have backed the sun and title with gorgeous papers from the Pink Fresh collection of the same name ‘Sunshine On My Mi...

CUT to YOU | Perfect | Mel Fiel

Hey there everyone! Today on the CUT to YOU blog I have a layout for you that has significantly tested and challenged me to no end. I have well and truly worked outside my comfort zone. The end result is very different from my initial plan but overall I think it works. This month I have gone back to trying to document some more photos from our wedding, 25 years ago. I don’t know about you but I have put this album off for the last 19 years of my scrapbooking life and had plans to complete it before our 25th anniversary…but I am like a kid in a lolly shop and always find something different to distract me. (Apologies for the yellow tone to the photo…bad weather means lighting for photos is not great!) I started with the mixed media background. I had a few challenges for this layout… **I am using a 25-year-old photo, the colour, and lighting in the photo are not great.  **I struggle to work with ‘purple’ at the best of times. Sometimes I wonder why I chose purple for the brid...

CUT to YOU | The Great Outdoors

Hey! I am so excited to be sharing with you today my second September project for CUT to YOU ! If you follow me on socials you may have seen a sneak peak of the beginnings of this project…I had so much fun creating this and just am so happy with the end result! You might remember that just recently my son was lucky enough to spend two weeks in Switzerland as part of the Australian Contingent celebrating the 100 years of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. They hiked almost every day, up to 40km and up extremely steep inclines BUT the scenery along the way made it all worthwhile. He had the most amazing time and made some great friends. Now I am left to live out his experiences scrapbooking his photos… to be honest, happy to leave the hiking all to him…as long as I have the photos!!! Anyway, I have used the absolutely awesome  Sketchy Circles Open   cut file for this layout and have cut it from plain black card stock. However, did you see that the lovely Gwen has ...

CUT to YOU | Circles Sliced Background & Streamers | Happy Birthday | Mel Field

Hey there CUT to YOU friends!  My first project for this month is all about my son's birthday. This layout took quite some time to put together and make work...I am so happy with the end result though. It pays to keep chipping away (generally how I scrap these days due to work commitments)!! One of the things I just love about using cut files is that you can use one on your project or, like I have in this project, more than one! You can size them according to your preference and they just create the best projects.  I started this project with 2 different patterned papers and black cardstock to make my base. I wanted the layout to be a bit grungy so I used my brayer to spread a small amount of white paint in the background and on top of the cut file once I had backed it. I also splattered some white acrylic paint. The main cut file I have used is the Circles Sliced Background . I decided to cut this in black card stock and have backed it with one of my favourite collections by ...

Happy Father's Day to all of the Dad's in the world......especially my beautiful Dad (love you Dad!), step dad and father in law. We have had the most exciting weekend with Jason's birthday and Father's Day. Brayden made this tie for Jason. It was stated that it must be worn all day....and it was!!!! How cute. Thanks for being a super Dad Ja! It has been a very busy few weeks....... this weekend we have survived all of the rain. Our thoughts go to those in the flooded regions here in Victoria. We've had a heap of rain and our creek that hasn't had very much water in 5 years is looking a little like "The Murray River." Needless to say all of our dams and tanks are full.....that is nothing to complain about!! Anyway, I have done quite a bit of scrapbooking over the last little bit. My beautiful friends Liz and Cheryl and I have had a night together....I made some last minute cards......already been given so sorry no photos! Probably the most exciting w...
