CUT to YOU | Oh So Many Gifts 🎁🎁

Image
Hey Everyone! Only 6 days until Christmas! There is so much happening here…we are extremely busy in our business and this week for us is a little stressful. I really wish I was in the craft room instead…. but I need to make money for my crafty addictions – LOL! Today I have created another Christmas layout. I have used another of the cut files from the  25 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar.   It is called  Oh So Many Gifts.  As soon as I saw this cut file I knew exactly which photos I needed to document using it as a background. These photos are from my son’s very first Christmas Day. He was nearly 11 months old and the joy on his face was priceless. This is exactly what Christmas is all about!! Now I don’t know if you have seen Gwen’s little Christmas series over on YouTube. I did speak about it last post. But if you haven’t…lots of great ideas and inspiration. You must check it out!! Again, I was a little inspired by the using up of ugly papers but more so those pa...

CUT to YOU | Perfect | Mel Fiel

Hey there everyone! Today on the CUT to YOU blog I have a layout for you that has significantly tested and challenged me to no end. I have well and truly worked outside my comfort zone. The end result is very different from my initial plan but overall I think it works. This month I have gone back to trying to document some more photos from our wedding, 25 years ago. I don’t know about you but I have put this album off for the last 19 years of my scrapbooking life and had plans to complete it before our 25th anniversary…but I am like a kid in a lolly shop and always find something different to distract me. (Apologies for the yellow tone to the photo…bad weather means lighting for photos is not great!) I started with the mixed media background. I had a few challenges for this layout… **I am using a 25-year-old photo, the colour, and lighting in the photo are not great.  **I struggle to work with ‘purple’ at the best of times. Sometimes I wonder why I chose purple for the brid...

CUT to YOU | The Great Outdoors

Hey! I am so excited to be sharing with you today my second September project for CUT to YOU ! If you follow me on socials you may have seen a sneak peak of the beginnings of this project…I had so much fun creating this and just am so happy with the end result! You might remember that just recently my son was lucky enough to spend two weeks in Switzerland as part of the Australian Contingent celebrating the 100 years of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. They hiked almost every day, up to 40km and up extremely steep inclines BUT the scenery along the way made it all worthwhile. He had the most amazing time and made some great friends. Now I am left to live out his experiences scrapbooking his photos… to be honest, happy to leave the hiking all to him…as long as I have the photos!!! Anyway, I have used the absolutely awesome  Sketchy Circles Open   cut file for this layout and have cut it from plain black card stock. However, did you see that the lovely Gwen has ...

CUT to YOU | You Are Special |

Hey everyone! Today I am sharing one of my latest projects for CUT to YOU using two digital cut files from the  CUT to YOU store. There are soooo many awesome cut files in the store that sometimes it is really hard to choose what you would like to use. There are so many fabulous options!  This month I continue with another photo from the local Debutante Ball. Now originally I wasn’t going to use this photo…BUT I saw a wonderful little challenge online that I used as my jumping off point and this photo was just perfect for the elements.  This is a photo of hubby and I with two of our staff members who were partners at the local Debutante Ball. I knew in this layout I was going to use the beautiful, soft tones of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘Storyteller’ collection and I needed to match it with a floral cut file from CUT to YOU. I ended up deciding to use the Flower Band cut file. I love this cut file for several reasons… 1) It is so pretty ...

CUT to YOU | Botanical Wreath | Mel Field

"CUT TO YOU | BOTANICAL WREATH | MEL FIELD" Hey there friends! Today I feature on the  CUT to YOU blog  sharing a special project that brought me so much joy… As creative people, we are very good at bringing joy to others through our creative projects. It doesn’t matter what we do…scrapbook, art journal, knit, crochet, sew, photograph…we are always good at putting a smile on other people’s faces with our little gifts. Today I share a project that I hope did just that. A beautiful young lady, very special to us, invited us to her Debutante Ball earlier in the year. We were so honoured to have been invited and had a wonderful night celebrating with her. Just recently she celebrated her birthday so I decided (with the support of my hubby and son) to make her a special gift. Now I couldn’t look past a cut file to add that special touch to the page. The  CUT to YOU shop  is filled with these little gems. Every time I head there I find something new (even if it is an ...
